Bombay to Barcelona Library Cafe (Mumbai)

Hi, Everyone!
Have you ever thought that you can fall in love with a place just by entering into it? Ok, I might sound similar here, as I have said a similar thing for some other places too. But what to do I have a big heart and I keep falling in love with the places I feel worth loving and connecting to me in some way.
But this place is different than every other place. This place is really special and has a really deep and touching and inspiring story behind this place. Well, I’m talking about Bombay to Barcelona Library Café in Marol Naka, Mumbai. I wasn’t aware of this place until last weekend when my friend took me there. Located at the walkable distance from Marol Naka Metro station, this place is run by all street kids (youngsters) who serve, cook and manage the restaurant all by themselves.
Amin Sheikh, who came up with the idea of this café has a very deep story behind his life and about this café. Well, honestly speaking I’m not the right person to share his story here. You should visit the place to know about him and his journey and this café, I’m sure you will love it.

The café is a small place with an open kitchen where you can see your order cooking right in front of your eyes totally fresh, the chefs in this café are also street children’s and no they aren’t trained in culinary skills, so please forgive them if any mistakes happen by chance. If I speak about this café and my memory with it, then well, my memory with this café is really amazing. For two reasons, I was meeting my dear friends there as a small reunion and secondly the group who was enjoying their meal along with singing songs and playing the guitar, making other people sing along with them and demanding them to sing their favourite songs.
Coming up to food what we ordered-
Nimbu Pani: Ok! I know what you might be thinking! Who orders that! But trust me it was exactly the way your mom makes it at home. Neither too sweet nor too salty just perfect.
Chocolate Milkshake: Being a chocolate lover, I just end up ordering anything that contains chocolate as my drink. And Shabana made it exactly the way I like my chocolate milkshake, a little sweeter. Perfectly thick and creamy and tasty.
Grilled Mushrooms: Ok! This was one dish, I couldn’t taste as I’m allergic to mushrooms. But it smelled good and was served with cucumber and cheese. My friends loved it and according to them it was perfect in taste and the grilled flavour was just amazing.
Delhi Alu Chaat: Trust me, if you have tried Delhi alu chaat, then you will love this too. I was totally in love with this dish in the first bite. Made with perfection, the crispiness of the potatoes and the flavours of the onion and chutney gave this whole dish a perfect scrumptious taste I could die for.
Penne Pasta in Pink Sauce: If you love pasta and if you like it anyway it is made, you will like this one too. Veggies well cooked, neither too soft nor too raw just the way it should be in the pasta, the sauce was less cheesy though but still, it tasted nice and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Honestly, the pasta was really nice.
The book next to the pasta is written by Amin and it shares his life story in the book
Crunchy C7 Sandwich: Ok what is C7? Well, everything that was put between bread was starting with C, like carrot, cucumber, cheese, chutney etc. So C7 was veg and C8 was nonveg. It was what it named, crunchy! Good in taste and the right amount of crunchiness made this sandwich nice. I personally didn’t enjoy it much but still, it was good.
Mango Parfait: We picked this dessert because it looked really attractive plus it was there in their today’s special menu. So we ended up ordering and hey, we didn’t regret coz it was super delicious. The mango pieces with cream, crumbled cookies and some more stuff into it gave the dessert a perfect unique taste and the brilliant end to our meal.
*We also tried their freshly baked ajwain cookies which made me remind of what my mom makes as it tasted exactly the way I would have love to have it.
Overall my experience here was a bliss and I can’t wait to drop in here anytime soon. I actually have convinced my few friends to come along with me. I seriously m in love with this place and the people there.
If you haven’t been there yet, I suggest you should definitely try out this place and I guarantee that you will love it. Oh and did I told you that it’s a library café so you can check out books from their collection and can read it while sipping your coffee or taking a bite from your meal. Trust me, just go there once and you will fall in love.
Note: Get out from Gate 1 of Marol Naka Metro station to reach the café and no walk down there and don’t take an auto or else you will be taken to another place altogether.
Do drop a comment on a box below and share with me your experience if you visit this place.
If you like this post then do like, comment and share…
Well, I will be back with another post some other day.
Till then take care…

Happy 1st Birthday!

Hi, Everyone!
How are you all? Hope all well! Today is the 1st birthday of Yummy Safar! Yuppi! The blog turned one today! So I after a little help from all you readers whom I asked what they would like me to write about, the majority of you all suggested me to write about my most go to snack! So, here I’m celebrating the 1st birthday of Yummy Safar, by sharing the places which serve the amazing sandwiches in town. Yes, you get me right! Sandwiches are my most go to snack.
So let’s begin!

Subway: Well, if you don’t know this, then let me tell you that the subs served by Subway are actually a sandwich! One of the best places to have sandwich is Subway, just drop in, and make your own sandwich by just telling them which bread you want and what all you want to add to it and how you want your sub to be and they will make it exactly the way you tell them. My all time favourite here is Hara Bhara Kabab in Multigrain bread.
Sandwizzaa: The original shop is situated near Santa Cruz station west, however, they have now opened their branches in some other places too. Just drop in here and try any sandwich and I bet you will fall in love with it. Activity toast is good here, I personally love the veg mayonnaise toast as it tastes really amazing. The chutney served along with the sandwiches are really yummy and worth asking for more. Also, the veg grill is really delicious and too filling here.
Breadkraft: Located in Lokhandwala, this place is famous for the rolls they serve, but the sandwiches here are worth trying too. The jumbo grill sandwiches have some really good options and my personal favourite here is Veg Szechwan paneer cheese grill. Yes as the name suggests, this is really heavy and filling and also mouthwateringly delicious. If you are in Lokhandwala and feeling super hungry then you know what you can try at Breadkraft!
Bachelors: Located near Charni Road Station, Bachelors is one of the most famous food joints among Mumbaikars. You will find people standing near the shop late at night waiting for their order or eating what they ordered. Famous for their thick shakes, Bachelors also serve some really amazing Sandwiches in town. Try their simple Veg masala cheese grill and I know the simple one as it sounds, the tastiest you will get. The masala is made with utter love I guess as that alone enhance the taste of the sandwich to another level.
Sandwich Cart: Ok, I still don't remember the name of this sandwich seller, but you will quickly understand whom I’m talking about. Well, it is located exactly opposite to Mithibai College, where you find the best vada pav and dosas. That shop for sandwiches is one of the places which do serve really yummy sandwiches loaded with butter and spicy chutney. My all-time favourite here is Paneer Cheese Grill. That is one of the best I find here and love to have it my way. Yes, I customise the sandwich according to me.
Balaji Sandwich (Vaasu Sandwich): Located at S.V.Road near Cineplex, Goregaon, this place is known as Vaasu Sandwichwala. The crowd near this place will make you easily locate this small shop. Sandwiches here are blessings for those who love sandwiches. Their All India Sandwich is my favorite and also AK47 sandwich is worth trying. You have to wait for your sandwich if its crowded but its always worth waiting for sandwiches here.
Lucky Sandwich: Located near Vile Parle station west, you can easily locate this small shop, just look for the most crowded little shop at the corner and you will locate it. Hardly at 5 mins walking distance from the station, they help in killing your hunger by serving some really amazing sandwiches here. I love the chilli cheese toast and veg masala cheese toast. Yes, I love cheese a lot. But honestly, there chilli cheese toast and veg masala cheese toast are worth having.

Jai Maharashtra Sandwiches and Dosas: Located in Sundar Nagar in Malad, this small shop is exactly next to Jumbo King and is very famous among the people who know the place. They serve a huge variety of Sandwiches and Dosas and are worth having. The Chilli Milli Sandwich and the noodle sandwich are one of my favourite here and are too spicy to have. So if you are not a big fan of spicy food then please try something else.
Anna Sandwich: Again, I’m not sure about the name as I never noticed it, but this sandwich cart is the only sandwich cart you will find in the Sundar Nagar Garden with some other Chaat stalls. I call it Anna Sandwich because the uncle who makes it is called Anna by everyone. So yes, they serve really simple sandwiches but the best ones. My all time favourite here is Masala Toast as it is the most delicious yet simple sandwich I have tried in that area.
Vasant Sandwich Corner: Located on MG Road, near the City Centre Signal in Goregaon, this is a small cart serving a variety of sandwiches and are really amazing. The chutney they serve along with the sandwiches is really yummy. I won’t share my favourite as I love every sandwich they serve here.
Overall, each and every single place I mentioned above are my selected favourite and I thoroughly love them. If you haven’t tried them yet then please go and try. You can ask me anything you want to know about the places in the comment box below.
Well, I’m very happy to celebrate my blog’s first birthday by sharing my favourite sandwich places. I will be back with another post soon.
Till then take care…

Dinshaw's Express Cafe (Mumbai & Pune)

Hi, Everyone!
What’s up? Howz life and what is going on! I’m back with a new post of a very amazing place, I tried for the first time and fell in love with. So if you know that Dinshaw’s is famous for its desserts came up with its café as well named Dinshaw’s Express Café located in Mumbai and Pune.

The ambience is nicely done and is very soothing and relaxing. The background music is refreshing as well. The staff is very helpful, friendly and very patient while explaining you about the menu.
Coming up to food, they have a vast menu with unique names and unique innovations in the dishes served here. Before taking a bite you eat it twice by the looks and by the fragrance. And here the presentation of the food was uniquely done and was very inviting to eat it quickly. So, what we ordered?
Veg Mac & Cheese Burger: Veg Burger with a twist I must say! A regular veg burger with tasty veg patty and mac and cheese stuffed between burger buns and served with french fries and cheesy dip this is one of the most scrumptious burgers I ever tried.
Cheese Nachos Fries Pizza: Have you ever thought of all your favourite things served as one whole cuisine. Honestly, I never thought of something like that, but they thought of it and I was more than happy to try this one out. The results were amazing and this pizza tasted really yummy and I was enjoying the flavours of pizza, nachos, fries and cheese all in one.
Grilled Paneer with Rice &Fries: Ok, we love fries and here everything is coming with fries. So this meal sounds interesting and so we ordered it and we got a place of fries, herbed rice and grilled paneer in the spicy roast sauce. The sauce tasted really amazing with that burnt roasted flavour mixing with paneer and the combination of fries and rice along with it was really perfect.
Paneer Paprika: the love for paneer is something every vegetarian can understand, and paneer paprika here is something you must have.  Pan fried paneer mixed with their special paprika sauce is one of the amazing and really tasty cuisines I have tried in long.
Melbourne Cookie Freak Shake: As the name suggests it is actually a freak shake coz after eating a lot when you order such shakes you freak out seeing the size and the quantity. But one of the most delicious shakes I have ever tried, this is a worth trying out shake but suggested to eat less or order this first and then think of ordering something else later. A mix of icecreams, cookies, chocolates, whipped cream and what not, this shake taste SUPERB!
Hazelnut Twist: Another mother watering so good and scrumptious dessert we tried here was this. Small in size but super filling and delicious, this dessert is a mix of ice-creams, brownies, cookies, Ferrero rocher, nutella and fudge sauce. Now just think of all these ingredients mixed in one and they served chilled. This is something I will say worth having.
Overall this place is worth going and though it’s best known for its desserts I will suggest you try out both food and desserts and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. Everything served here falls under budget with good taste and quality and soothing environment.
I will be back with some other post soon!
Till then, take care…
With Love!
